Competition Guidelines

 

The Final will be taking place on September 5th in the Twenty Two Dublin

 

HOW TO ENTER

Step 1 – Create a profile on Talent Nation

Step 2 – Submit an entry to the competition

 

OVERVIEW

Your entry should consist of three parts:

(a) Text entry - let the Judges know why your entry should win €10,000

(b) Video entry - a short video backing up your text entry

(c) Photo entry - as many photos as you like showing off your work 

Here are some tips on what each part of your entry should contain:

 

TEXT ENTRY - Why your entry should win

This is the most important part of your submission; it lets the Judges know why your entry should win €10,000.

While we are very interested in your talent, we would love to know your story and how this prize might help you achieve your goals or further your career, so tell us why you a worthy winner.

 

VIDEO ENTRY - Backing up your text entry

Show your talent your own way, by uploading a video. Remember it HAS to be uploaded to Vimeo beforehand.

Your entry should showcase your talent in a creative and positive way or allow you to put across why the prize will be so important this will let the judges see what you’ve got. 

It should back up your submission, this can either be examples of your previous work, what you are trying to achieve or how the €10,000 will make a difference to you.

You could showcase your work or speak directly into the camera.

Here are some examples of what your video might contain:

Example 1 - Your showreel or examples of your work

Example 2 - You speaking to camera saying why the prize would have a fundamental or substantial impact on your career

Example 3 - You speaking to camera saying what are you are trying to achieve with your talent 

 

PHOTO ENTRY - Show off your previous work 

If you prefer to use still images or would like to add images to your entry, simply upload these images in high resolution and good quality jpeg format.

July 1st   Open for Entries
July 29th   Submissions Close
August 12th   Public Voting Close
August 19th   Semi-finalists Announced & Voting Opens
August 29th   Public Voting Close
September 1st   Finalists Announced
September 5th         Final

 

COMPETITION FORMAT

Stage One

In each category 3 entries will progress to the next stage; the selection of these entries is based on one coming from each of the following:

PUBLIC VOTE - Based on which entry gets the greatest number of Votes
JUDGES VOTE - Based on our Judges Vote
TALENT NATION VOTE - Based on Talent Nation Vote

 

Stage Two – Semi Finals – 27 Entrants

In each category TWO entries will progress to the Final; the selection of these entries is based on the PUBLIC VOTE you receive in the Second Round and the JUDGES vote. 

The weighting attributed to each group is as follows:

PUBLIC VOTE - 40% of your overall vote will be based on the number of PUBLIC VOTES you receive in relation to the number of votes that the other entrants in your Category receive. This is based solely on the new votes that you receive once the Semi Finalists have been announced.

JUDGES & TALENT NATION VOTE - 60% of your overall vote will be based on our Judges and Talent Nation’s Vote.

 

Stage Three – Final – September 5th – 18 Entrants

Voting for the winner will be based on whoever gets the greatest number of votes from attendees at the event, sponsors, judges and the Talent Nation Team.

The weighting attributed to each group is as follows:

- Attendees at the event will carry 40%
- Sponsors, Judges and Talent Nation votes will carry 60%

Whichever Entrant receives the greatest number of votes in each Category will be the Category Winner

Whoever receives the greatest number of votes will win the €10,000 prize

FM104 will decide on which entry will perform at The Gig on September 13th
